Step 6: “Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.”
Devotion:
Step 7 says we “humbly asked Him.”
This step is deeply personal because it brings us into direct conversation with Jesus about the things we long to see changed.
We are no longer hiding our struggles or trying to manage them alone. Instead, we place them into His hands.
Some shortcomings may disappear quickly. Others may take time as Jesus teaches us dependence, patience, and obedience along the way.
The important thing is not perfection — it is remaining surrendered to Christ throughout the process.
Bible Example:
When blind Bartimaeus cried out to Jesus for mercy (Mark 10), he openly acknowledged his need. Jesus responded with compassion and healing.
Reflection Questions:
1. What shortcomings do I most need to surrender to Jesus today?
2. Am I willing to trust His timing and process of change?
Prayer:
Jesus, I bring my weaknesses and shortcomings before You. I trust You to continue the work You have begun in me. Amen.
Action Step:
Bring one specific shortcoming before Jesus in prayer today.
Ask Him to remove it or begin changing it according to His will
Remember: Jesus responds to hearts that come honestly and humbly before Him.
