Step 6: “Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.”
Devotion:
Humility is not only something we pray about. It is something we practice daily.
We grow in humility when we:
· listen instead of demanding our way,
· serve instead of seeking recognition,
· forgive instead of holding resentment,
· remain teachable before Jesus.
Pride pulls us toward self-centeredness. Humility draws us closer to the heart of Christ.
Jesus Himself showed us the perfect example of humility. Though He was Lord, He served others with love and obedience to the Father.
Biblical Example:
At the Last Supper, Jesus washed the disciples’ feet (John 13). The Savior chose the posture of a servant.
Reflection Questions:
1. Where is Jesus calling me to practice humility in my relationships?
2. What would it look like to follow Christ’s example of servanthood today?
Action Step:
Look for one opportunity today to serve someone quietly and humbly without seeking recognition.
Remember: Humility grows as we follow the example of Jesus.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, shape my heart to become more like Yours. Teach me to walk in humility, love, and service toward others. Amen.
Scripture:
“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus…” –Philippians 2:5–8
Bible Scripture to consider
“Humble yourselves… casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:6–7
