Step 9: Walking as a Peacemaker (Part 4 of 4)

12-Steps with Jesus - Guide (Step 9)

Step 9: “ Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.”

Devotion:

Step 9 is much more than making amends.

It is learning to live as a peacemaker. Jesus didn’t simply reconcile us to the Father.

He now sends us into the world as ambassadors of reconciliation.

As we continue following Him, we become people who seek peace, extend forgiveness, speak truth with kindness, and reflect His love wherever we go.

This is no longer simply something we do.It becomes who we are.

Changed hearts produce changed relationships because Christ lives within us.

Biblical Example:

After his conversion, Saul sought fellowship with believers who had every reason to fear him (Acts 9). Trust grew slowly, but God restored relationships through a transformed life.

A changed heart became visible to everyone around him.

Reflection Questions

1. How is Jesus making me a peacemaker?

2. What relationships still need His healing touch?

Action Step:

Thank Jesus for every opportunity He has given you to demonstrate His love.

Commit yourself to living each day as His ambassador of reconciliation.

Remember: Jesus reconciled us to the Father so we could become instruments of His peace.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for reconciling me to the Father. Help me become a faithful ambassador of Your love, Your grace, and Your peace. May my life point others to You in every relationship. Amen.
