Scripture Reading
“For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people. 16 Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves.” 1 Peter 2:15-16 ESV
Thought For the Day
In 1 Peter 2:15-16, we are reminded of the profound call to live as servants of God amid a world that often opposes His ways. The passage encourages Christ-followers to silence the ignorance of foolish people through honorable conduct. This echoes the teaching of Jesus, who urged His followers to be the light of the world, shining in such a way that others may see their good deeds and glorify God (Matthew 5:14-16).
As Christ-followers, we are not only called to proclaim the Gospel with our words but to embody it through our actions. Our conduct should be a living testimony reflecting Christ’s transformative power in our lives. When we respond to challenges with grace, navigate conflicts with love, and navigate trials with faith, we become living witnesses of our hope in Jesus.
Meditation for the Day
Our lives become a beacon of God’s truth and love in a world filled with darkness and confusion. We find true freedom as we submit to God’s will and embrace His ways. It’s not a freedom to indulge in selfish desires but a freedom to serve one another in love, aligning our lives with God’s perfect design. Have I found true freedom in submitting to God’s will, embracing His ways by bringing goodness into dark and confused world?
Prayer for the day
Heavenly FATHER, help me to strive to live free, not using my freedom as a cover-up for evil but as servants of God, following the way of JESUS. In doing so fulfilling my purpose to glorify YOU and YOUR SON and contribute to restoring a broken world. This I pray in JESUS’ name. Amen
