Serve and Speak with Strength to His Glory

30 Days with Jesus, Daily Faith Devotions, Daily Walk with Jesus

Scripture Reading

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.” 1 Peter 4:10-11 NIV

Thought For the Day

Have you ever felt like you were overlooked or did not have a spiritual gift? There are so many believers who are walking through life feeling this way and either missing or refusing opportunities to serve. Then, others are so busy wishing they had a different ability that they do not use the one given to them by the Holy Spirit. Both attitudes hinder the believer from growing in Christ and the body of Christ.

Meditation for the Day

God has a specific purpose and ministry for every Christ-follower. Our spiritual gifts help us to fulfill His plan. We learn which one(s) we are blessed with by getting involved in the life of the church. Another way to look at this is that Christ-followers will know their God-given abilities and gifts when they begin to exercise them. Have I identified my spiritual gifts? If so, am exercising them? If not, why?

Prayer for the day

Dear JESUS, help me to realize in the depth of my heart that every child of God is important, and each has a task. Where YOU have gifted me, may I walk through those opened doors of opportunity for ministry. Proide me the strength and courage to exercise my abilities for YOUR glory. Amen.
