These verses are a powerful reminder of the divine nature of Jesus. The fullness of God dwells in Him, not as a distant and unapproachable deity, but in a human body. This incarnation signifies the intimate connection between the divine and the human, bridging the gap that sin had created. In Jesus, God’s completeness is manifest, and Christ-followers are invited into a profound union with Him.
Also, these verses emphasize Jesus’ authority over every ruler and authority. In a world that often contends with powers beyond our control, Jesus stands as the sovereign head. Christ-followers can take refuge in His Lordship, trusting that every circumstance is subject to His authority.
Meditation for the Day
Jesus offers wholeness. He is not merely a teacher or a prophet; He is the embodiment of divine fullness. As Christ-followers align themselves with Jesus, they partake in this completeness, finding their identity and purpose in Him. Do I take refuge in His Lordship, trusting that every circumstance is subject to His authority?
Prayer for the day
Heavenly FATHER, help me to anchor my faith in the person of JESUS, finding true freedom, fulfillment, and security in Him alone. Help me to be more Christ-like in all I do, trusting that every circumstance is subject to JESUS’ authority. This I pray in JESUS’ name. Amen.
