Scripture Reading
2 Peter 3:9
“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
Thought For the Day
JESUS is at work everywhere, all the time doing HIS FATHER’s will. From the very first verse of the Bible, when HE created the heavens and earth, to the last verse of Revelation, when HE calls people to be saved. All through scripture and in the world today, JESUS is active in the lives of believers and nonbelievers, keeping HIS promises. Can I see GOD move in my life and the lives of others, even if it seems to slow for me at times?
Meditation for the Day
However, JESUS chooses to work in your life, you must trust HIM. What appears slow to you is not slow to HIM. HE is working out the perfect timing for all events. Your patience in waiting on HIM demonstrates your trust, which HE will reward as you come closer to becoming more like, HIM.
Prayer for the day
Forgive me, LORD. I repent of my sins against YOU and others. Thank YOU for your mercy and patience. I put my trust in YOU to help me develop the perseverance to grow stronger in my faith, and to accept YOUR timing as being perfect, and for my good always.
In the opening verse of 1 John 3, the apostle John invites us to marvel at the extravagant love our Heavenly Father has poured upon us. This love surpasses human comprehension, for it is the love that designates us as His children. John encourages us to recognize the profound reality – we are not merely creatures of the world; we are divinely adopted heirs of God.
The term “children of God” is not a casual description but a profound declaration of our identity. It signifies a special, intimate relationship with the Creator of the universe. This divine adoption comes not through our merit but through the Father’s boundless love. We are embraced by a love that surpasses understanding, a love that transforms us from strangers to cherished members of God’s family.
As children of God, we may encounter a world that fails to recognize us or comprehend the depth of our identity. Yet, we find comfort in knowing our true essence is hidden in Jesus. Our value and worth come from being children of a loving Father who knows us intimately.
Today, let us live in the truth of our identity as beloved children of God. May we embrace the enormity of His love and reflect it to a world desperately seeking the profound connection found only in the Father’s arms.
