Scripture Reading

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” 1 John 3:1 NIV

Thought For the Day

In the opening verse of 1 John 3, the apostle John invites us to marvel at the extravagant love our Heavenly Father has poured upon us. This love surpasses human comprehension, for it is the love that designates us as His children. John encourages us to recognize the profound reality – we are not merely creatures of the world; we are divinely adopted heirs of God.

The term “children of God” is not a casual description but a profound declaration of our identity. It signifies a special, intimate relationship with the Creator of the universe. This divine adoption comes not through our merit but through the Father’s boundless love. We are embraced by a love that surpasses understanding, a love that transforms us from strangers to cherished members of God’s family.

Meditation for the Day

As children of God, we may encounter a world that fails to recognize us or comprehend the depth of our identity. Our value and worth come from being children of a loving Father who knows us intimately. Have I found comfort in knowing my true essence is hidden in Jesus.

Prayer for the day

Today, LORD, GOD, let me I live in the truth of my identity as beloved child of GOD. May we embrace the enormity of YOUR love and reflect it to a world desperately seeking the profound connection found only in the FATHER’’s arms. This I pray in JESUS’ name. Amen.
