“Made a Decision to Turn Our Will and Our Lives Over to Care of God”.
Devotion Part 3: Into God’s Care
The completion of Step 3 is turning our lives over to God’s care. That means everything—our past, present, and future. It’s not just about letting go of what’s broken; it’s about placing our entire life in the hands of the One who created it.
Sometime this surrender isn’t about loss—it’s about finding true life in and with Christ. When we give God our story, He begins to write something new. His care is constant, personal, and full of grace.
You are not too far gone. Your life is not too messy. He wants all of it—because He loves all of you.
Bible Example: Paul’s Surrender – Acts 9:1–19
Saul (later Paul) was on a destructive path, blinded by pride and hate. But Jesus met him in mercy and changed everything. Like with Paul, He can give us a new life regardless of the person we have been or what we have done, if we decide to surrender our will and lives over to His care. Once we do this, we all have the same question as Paul, when he asked “Lord, what do You want me to do?” – Acts 9:6 (NKJV)
Paul gave his life to Jesus—and his story became one of redemption and new purpose.
Reflection Questions:
1. What parts of my life have I held back from giving to God?
2. How might God be inviting me to trust Him more fully with my past, my present, and my future?
Prayer:
God, I give You my life—not just in words, but in full surrender. I offer You my pain, my past, my hopes, and my fears, the good and the bad. I believe that You care for me, and I choose to trust You today. Write a new story with my life—one marked by grace and guided by faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Bible Scripture to consider:
- “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
– 2 Corinthians 5:17
